GOOD NEWS !!!!

Hi, dear all !

Time is going by quickly..., and we are less than two months away from our trip!!! How are you feeling? Getting ready?

I have some good news for you:
* we have excellent seats for Les Miserables, in the dress circle (want to know what this is? CLICK HERE) Normally they cost £62, but we got them for 45, having paid well in advance :-)... And the trip from and back to Brighton is included!
* I asked the travel agency to pick us up as soon as you get out of school on Wednesday 19, so that we can do some sightseeing in London before going to the theatre. They have accepted, so this is GREAT!!!
* They will also take us again to London on Thursday 27. It's convenient because shops close later on Thursdays, and you might like to do some shopping before flying back to Argentina.

So what we still need to pay is this:

Trips to:
* Bath, Salisbury and Stonehenge, on Sunday 9 --our FIRST excursion!!!
* Stratford upon Avon and the Cotswolds, on Sunday 16.
* Leeds and Canterbury, on Sunday 23.
* London, on Thursday 27 (we´ll ask permission to miss school all day :))

If can I can remember well, London is £25, Leeds and Canterbury £35 and the other two are £30, which would make a TOTAL of £120. AND THAT's ALL WE HAVE TO PAY for extra excursions. I´ve asked for confirmation and will let you know as soon as I get the answer.

Well, that's all for now, see you on December 1st,

Rita

I'll let you know, then, by next month :-)

Rita

November 26: Shirley suggests taking 200 euros (max) for Paris expenses, though she´s sure it´ll be less than that!

Les Miserables

OK, the seats for "The Miserables" are already booked, but I wanted to make sure that we would see the musical on Wednesday 19, since "missing this rally" the school has organized for the 19 is not a big deal...;-)

So there we are now, re-organizing the schedule to make it still better!

How are you all doing? Getting ready? Tell us about your preparation!!!

Welcome from Brighton Sprachcaffe Principal

Dear Students

I would like to introduce myself. My name is David Burgess and I am the Principal/Director of Studies in Brighton. I look forward to welcoming you to my country. Brighton is a fascinating and vibrant city. Dr Johnson once said that "when a man is tired of London he is tired of life". I believe the same can be said for Brighton, Britain's newest city. Welcome!

Warm regards

David

Our September Meeting

We had a good meeting yesterday, where everybody felt a little more "at ease" discussing different aspects of our trip together.
Eneas described "Les Miserables", the play he enjoyed very much, and which he'd like everybody to see instead of "Billy Elliot". I must say I haven't seen either of them, but today I met two friends who have, and they coincided in that "Les Miserables" is a very good musical, but rather gloomy, as it conveys a feeling of darkness, poverty and opression. They both agree that a "lighter" musical, with more fun and lively music would be the best for you all, but I'll book it anyway because it's been your choice.

Anyway, I haven't received an answer from London yet, even when early this morning I sent them another email reminding them of the deadline they had told me about, and saying I am ready to pay. I'll let you know when I have booked all the tickets successfully.

Our next meeting will be on Thursday 28, in October, at the same time, in the same place. It's important that EVERYBODY comes, because we are all getting to know each other better, and because many questions are answered.

Those students present chose their English cities to work on, and I MUST say I have already seen a fabulous job three of you are doing on Brighton... Want to see it?... Go to our Google Site, you'll LOVE it, even though it's not finished yet!!

So there are a couple of places which need some writers..., like Salisbury Cathedral, Stonehenge and Bath. Those who haven't been allotted one, send me a message with your choice.

And one last thing: I'll be sending the "written Permit" that you must complete and get authorized to hand it in before travelling, or else I can still give it out during our next meeting in October.

I hope I'll see you ALL next time,

Rita

VOTING NEEDED

Hi, all,

As our Paris Coordinator is in Rosario for a couple of days, we had a meeting this morning with those travelling to Paris so that they could get together, and Eneas made a suggestion: he'd like to see "Les Miserables" instead of "Billy Elliot". So I'd like EVERYONE to VOTE as soon as possible, to decide it democratically..

So click HERE and complete the table writing your names under the option you prefer.

The deadline will be next Tuesday 28, since I need to pay for the booking before the end of September, remember ...?
